Wild Western Red Cedar, aged 15 years. 23" long x 8 1/8" wide x 5 mm thick. Good sound, wild look.

Wild Western Red Cedar, aged 15 years. 26 1/4" long x 8 1/8" wide x 5 mm thick. Good sound, neat dark look. I am now making a guitar from the sister cut of this piece.

Redwood, aged 20 years. 22 1/4" long x 7 1/4" wide x 7 mm thick. Very tight grain, nice sound and look. Great top if you are making a classical or smaller guitar.

100 year old Western Red Cedar

Because this wood is so old some end checks have developed. We simply seal them with super glue, tape them so they glue together tight, and sand all traces of the super glue away. Please look at photo, the right hand book matched piece has been glues and sanded. Also, the dimensions are large enough that the guitar template will avoid these cracks, however, if they are in the pattern area you simply put a few cross grain wood diamond tabs on the inside. What ever you have to do, this wood is really worth the effort.

Large Engelman Spruce top from BC. Quarter sawn, tight to medium grain. Size: 21 3/4" long x 10 1/2" wide. If you look at the larger picture, it looks like the grain runs to flat sawn, however, it is quarter sawn throughout.

Sitka Spruce. Very old, quarter sawn, tight to medium grain. Size: 22 5/8" long x 8 7/8" wide x 3.7mm thick. Nice. colorful set, very well aged and air dried for about 25 years.
